The first ever Parrot Awareness Week will be launched this year from 2nd-8th July 2023 to promote improving welfare for pet parrots.

The week is led by The Parrot Society UK in collaboration with UK Pet Food, Petcover Group and a volunteer group of avian veterinary professionals, and will be an interesting and fun way of learning more about the health and welfare of pet parrots in the UK.

During Parrot Awareness Week, our aim is to highlight a number of important themes with respect to parrot welfare in captivity, with a new focus each day on subjects such as enrichment, nutrition, preventative health. Follow them on Facebook for daily updates during the week at: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089833982843. More details are also available on their website: https://www.parrotawarenessweek.com

The week will culminate with The Parrot Society UK’s annual Pet Parrot Gathering at Stafford County Showground on Saturday 8th July.

This will be an exciting opportunity to meet fellow parrot enthusiasts, watch flying displays of these colourful birds, see expert  demonstrations of such things as harness training and feeding techniques, plus lectures from experts and many trade stands, plus fantastic competitions and prizes.
